🚨 15 Oklahoma City Dogs Are Out of Time — Can Y’all Help? 💛

🚨 Well, y’all, 15 sweet Oklahoma City dogs landed on the shelter’s euthanasia list for today, Thursday, Oct 22, just because there’s no room. Let’s get every one of them out! 💛🐾

These pups are at OKC Animal Welfare, and they were put on the list for lack of space, not because they did a thing wrong. The shelter doesn’t publish the list itself, so it’s being passed around by volunteers and DogsInDanger. As of late this morning, all 15 were still showing in the shelter’s system, so there’s still time to help. Five of them can be adopted today, and the other ten need a rescue to step up. Scroll down to meet them all, and please share this post with everybody you know in Oklahoma! 🙏

💛 How y’all can help today

• Adopt one of the five: Chad, Kingston Reign, Sheldon, Churro and A481808 are on the shelter’s Pets Available for Adoption page. The OKC Animal Shelter at 2811 SE 29th St. is open for adoptions today from noon to 5 p.m. (hours and location). Every adoptable pet there is already spayed or neutered, vaccinated and dewormed.
• Rescues, please pull the other ten: They’re on stray hold, medical, evaluation or other holds, so they can only leave through a 501(c)(3) rescue. Approved partners can place a commitment through the shelter’s transfer program. If your group isn’t a partner yet, email awtransfers@okc.gov.
• Offer to foster for a rescue: Rescues can only say yes when they have a foster lined up. If you’re near OKC, reach out to a local rescue and tell them you’ll foster one of these ten.
• Please don’t call the shelter about the ten: The volunteers sharing this list have asked folks not to call about the dogs that need a rescue. Sharing is the best way to help them.
• Share, share, share: If you can’t take a dog home, share this post. One share can reach the rescue or family that says yes.
